I’m Kate and this is where I share my stuff. Here you will find a mix of healthful comfort foods, decadent desserts and lots of tacos recipes. Sometimes I create my own recipes and sometimes I re-create recipes from some of my favorite food blogs and food editorials, Bon Appetite– I’m looking at you!
Why cooking on clocks? Because of my best friend, my brother. You can read a little bit about him here. And, for my family back home in NY, they wanted to see what I was making so this seemed like a legit way to make that happen. You’re welcome, guys.
During the day I work at a law school, but one day I dream of moving to a quiet, New England town, opening up my own bakery and rocking that little town’s world with my cinnamon rolls and other delicious treats. In my head I imagine my house to look like the one Diane Keaton owns in Baby Boom. Plan B is opening up a taco trunk on a beach somewhere. I know this has been done- but I’m pretty sure I could do it better.
This all began about 18 years ago with a box of Jiffy Blueberry Muffins, you can read about that here. Years later, I am here, cooking out of my sometimes-functioning Baltimore city kitchen, combining my love of feeding people, photography and writing. Speaking of photography, I take all of my own pictures, which you could probably already tell from their complete amateur quality.
For me food has always been a really important part of life and an essential part of enjoying that life. I went from a cheeseburger-loving, ho-ho-pounding child, to a vegetarian, to a vegan for a short period of time and have landed somewhere in the middle of all of these. Now I have learned that balance is key if you are going to be successful in (eating your way through) life. I’ll try to keep a balance of green things and bacon-y things on here.
So here we go! Lets make things.
