I love this time of year. Lately I find myself being more of a homebody than usual. Not that I don’t love to go places and do things and travel and explore- because I do. But lately I just feel the need to kind of baby myself, rest and relax, more so than usual. Maybe its the change of season, maybe its my body telling me to slow down. Lately I find myself saying “no” more and for me that is a pretty huge accomplishment. Saying no to things that I don’t want to do or don’t want to even lend space to in my head too. It’s refreshing. Can I tell you about my favorite tree? Its this one:
This tree is always this first to change on my block. I pass it everyday on my walk to work and its kind of funny because every time I see it I think “oh my gosh that treeee.” It never gets old. While everyone else is all “ugh I don’t want summer to end” that tree and I are over here, ready. Keep it movin’ summer, see ya next year! Pass me a knit sweater, a piece of this cake and a cup of hot cider and I’m good. I can not wait for boots and long brisk walks and sleeping with the windows open and lighting pumpkin apple scented candles!
Fall makes me feel kind of nostalgic in a way, the back to school commercials and the weather changing but at the same time, the brisk air and the change of pace this season brings on, makes me feel as though I’m starting something new. A clean slate if you will. And who doesn’t love a clean slate? We can all use one of those sometimes.
Really I just want to move to Stars Hallow and eat breakfast at my local diner and chit chat with Luke each morning. Gilmore Girls fans, I’m looking at you! What is it about this time of year and me wanting to re-watch every single episode ever?
And last but not least, lately I’ve been thinking a lot about this space. Ways I want to improve it, having the courage to share it with more people, recipes I want to make, being brave enough to commit to posting more and more. I have plans for this little space here. The best is yet to come.
